ART PROCESS - SET UP FIVE YEARS AGO BY
THE IRISH ARTIST JOHN-PAUL DELANEY
Open
Invitation for Contemporary Visual Artists.

PRESS RELEASE
Art Process
Trapani 2007
www.artprocess.com
Art Process is an online art project that involves hundreds
of artists from many countries. Set up in 2004, Art
Process permits artists to create their own virtual
gallery to publicise their works and
ideas, but above all strives to create a dialogue between
those artists in the dynamic exchange ofopinion on the
site. In a few years the site has become a reference
point for artists on the internet.
Collaboration with artist Antonio Sammartano gave way to
the realization of an international meeting at Trapani,
Sicily in July 2007 of Art Process on the website, and
about 100 reponded positively expressing an interest in
attending. The project aroused the interest of the city
council of Trapani, and the Curia Vescovile of Trapani
(which in recent years has demonstrated a notable
sensitivity in promoting contemporary art). The diocese
has made available two unused and deconsecrated churches
in the centre of Trapani as exhibition locations, while
the city council has given the use of additional spaces
also in the historic centre. The international artistic
presence, along with local artists, and the people of
Trapani will combine to create a dynamic cultural event
of visual art and language - a meeting place for art, and
artists, in the public domain. The diverse approach of
each artist allows this project to exceed the confines of
the usual "fossilized" art exhibition, and
become a creative studio of painting, installation,
sculpture, photography, and video that reflect a changing
society, the confrontation of nature and urban life, and
explore links with tradition. The idea to
de-contextualize the artspace into multiple spaces in the
city allows greater access for the public to the
artworks. Visitors to the show will be sure to admire the
city, itâ™s
location, and in time may come to consider Trapani as a
new venue on the international artworld
circuit.

Hello List, Partners, Fellow Artists, Group, ETC.--
First let me say NOW that everything seems to be more real and
realized than ever before. Now I feel as if we are a group that's
really doing something. Not that we were never a group and never
doing anything before, yet NOW seems to be a point were the outward
actions are starting to manifest. Congrats to everyone for what
we've done. Of course an extra special fine CONGRATS to JP and
Antonio for making this happening, along with the political
connections, public organization society thing and the overall visual
anticipation visualization. Am I making sense? OK? It's Saturday
night and I've had some vino. By the way... I'm waiting near
patiently to drink with you all! In SICILY!
Getting to business... regarding the recent emails... I think that an
abstract image of all our work (small or large) in the shape of not
only Italy but maybe SICILY is a great idea because it will be a work
of art in itself. I don't think it matters if you will be able to
see individual works yet more importantly there will be an overall
feeling and sensation created by us for us, while all getting the
same original exposure. Our true individual works will be seen in
the show. To have an original image made by all the artists
(theoretically) is an endeavor all its on that a brave graphics
person will have to undertake. And by the way, I think another show
of our ARTPROCESS pictures along with the artwork is another great
idea for an art show in the possible near future. Any takers?
Yes, and did I mention that I'm looking forward to eating some food
and drinking some wine and talking art with all of you. Yes. OK. I
know I already mentioned it, but I just wanted to reemphasize the
point...
See ya soon--
