obama's
reputation worth a vote? President Barack Obama was heckled today as he gave a speech in New Hampshire about the state of the U.S. economy. Days after the First Lady faced a
chorus of boos as she honoured U.S. troops in Florida, Mr
Obama, trailed by Occupy Wall Street protesters, dashed
into the politically important state for his speaking
event at Central High School in Manchester. There, he
stood face-to-face with those calling themselves 'the 99
per cent' fighting economic inequality. But as he began,
activists drowned out his remarks, chanting: 'Over 4,000
peaceful protesters have been arrested while "banksters"
continue to destroy the American economy.'

This conversation reminds of something that Glen
Ford said regarding how this Obama thing as resulted in
Blackfolks going stone cold crazy. The need
to identify with the American project and see
oneself as fellow citizen by embracing and utilizing a
lens on the world informed by all of the assumptions and
presuppositions of white supremacy ideology is leading to
the emergence of a conservatism in the African American
community that is as irrational and politically backward
than anything that we have ever witnessed or experience
in this country. If this boot licking, errand boy
for imperialism was a white boy president who attempted
to stop President Aristide from returning to Haiti, who
murdered an US citizen without trial, sold the people out
to the insurance and pharmaceutical companies on health
care; did not include any targeted resources in his
stimulus package to attack the astronomical unemployment
rates in the African American, Latino and Native
communities; attacked an Africa nation Libya;
turned his back on the people of Honduras by giving
support to anti-people coup; extended the Bush tax cuts
to the rich, blocked the investigation of torture under
the bush regime and the list could on. If this was
a white boy, we would be in full resistance mold and no
one with any credibility would give verbal or political
support to the white boy. But because this
sophisticated water boy for massa is supposed to be
Black, Black folks who crave white
validation, who need white affirmation of their humanity,
who have for all intents and purposes become
American, find ways to explain away his
reactionary positions and brand critics if this
administration as haters or
unsophisticated in the ways of the white world and white
power. Because for these folks, Obama
represents all that they strive for and all that they
will die for as represented by their contorted attempts
at justifying US imperialist adventures in various parts
of the world where our young people die for this criminal
enterprise call the United States of America. For those of us who
still believe and struggle for a new reality, who believe
in the transformative power of a conscious and organized
people, it is starting to become quite obvious that the
real terms of struggle might transcend the simple and
familiar categories of haves versus have nots -
but will require us having to identify and struggle
against all who support the Empire, Black, white or
whatever - as the enemy of progress and humanity. Ajamu Baraka from Ronan Berkeley http://niqnaq.wordpress.com/ :Debs is saying,
those wicked yanks are throwing the entire region into
the hands of jihadi fanatics and we shall all be murdered
in our beds. They are obscuring the actual covert
alliance between Israel and the Sauds which is at the
bottom of the whole thing RB You've
raised questions about what I wrote but didn't provide
any real answers. It is obvious to me you are a rabid apologist for
Obama no matter what he does or doesn't do. But unlike so
many others you cunningly try to use the race issue in
these forums to excuse Obama by implying if he wasn't in
office a white guy would do worse. You are correct, a
white guy would do what white people have been doing to
non-Europeans for the last five hundred plus years all
around the world. Prior to the European expansion out
into the world, their "leaders" abused and
dogged their own people for thousands of years
so what else is new? What's your point? Are you saying
the system which was created by whites for whites isn't
evil and that a black man in the White House
somehow makes it better? I was at a meeting this past
week and debated with men who refuse to see the
immorality of what Obama is doing. They support him to
the point of irrationality. They are enamored with
Obama because he is "black". His blackness
rather than his policies for them is the key. I
asked one man if Hitler had been black and he lived in
Germany in the 1930's would he have supported him and he
said yes. Need I say more? To
keep this response short and simple; yes I have an
opinion and yes I will attempt to share information
others may not be privy to on these forums. In
the end it is my hope they will do some additional
research, double check my facts, that they will think
critically for themselves and come to their own
conclusions. If you disagree or don't like my opinions that's
your issue and not my concern. I certainly will not stop
writing or broadcasting simply because you don't like
what I write. You question my motives, what are
yours, to defend the indefensible? My motives are
merely to offer another perspective. Again if you don't
like it, that's your issue. This is
not about right/left Democrat or Republican it is about
an ongoing assault on Africa by the white West
and their minions. Obama despite the pass you want to
give him, is one of their minions just as many
continental Africans are puppets for the IMF, World Bank
and BIS cartels. I
write about history because it is the prelude to the
present and has a direct bearing on what we are
experiencing today. Obama has not veered from
the course of US imperialism, one Iota. In fact he has
increased it along with the killing of thousands of
innocent people in Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya as
well as continuing the wars in Columbia, Iraq and
Afghanistan. Imperialism is imperialism whether launched
by a psychotic white man or a black surrogate who
was given a "peace prize", as the recent
history of African in Rwanda during the Clinton administration,
the whole of Central Africa and Congo under Bu$h or what
is going on now in the Horn of Africa under a "black"
president proves. What difference does it make whether
Africans get shafted by a white boy or by Obama they
still are getting shafted? Please spare me the Orwellian
spin that he is "saving African lives" I'm not
the one for that. Since
you question whether Obama is involved in arms shipments,
what about US gunning running to the Mexican drug cartels,
the so called Fast and Furious scandal that has
implicated the Obama administration and his "black"
Attorney General Eric Holder? That's something even Obama
has admitted was a "mistake" now that it is
coming to light. What's your spin on that? This is
the same Eric Holder who has not prosecuted one Wall
Street banker, bond rating company or hedge fund head.
How do you explain that? What's
your explanation for the fact the class war and income
gap is worse/wider under Obama than any time short of the
early 1900's other than he inherited it from Bu$h?
Roosevelt inherited a depression from Hoover but at least
he attempted to do something about it. Obama just like
Roosevelt came into office and had a Democratic House and
Senate but he squandered the opportunity and did nothing
for the people. (The insurance industry trade association
actually wrote the Obama "health care" bill in
case you want to give him credit for that. Guess who that
legislation benefits? Oh, we won't know until 2014 wonder
why they did it like that? ) What's your spin on
the fact Obama appointed the very people to his cabinet
who set the stage for the economic collapse during the
Clinton administration or doesn't that history count
because it involves Democrats? Will the
economic collapse be more tolerable for black folks
because Obama is a black man and a Democrat rather than a
white guy? Do the people who lost their jobs and homes
the last two years feel better about it because Obama is
in the White House as opposed to a white guy? Somehow I
don't think so. I could go on but you get my
drift. Evil is evil no matter its skin color. I
hold a black man to a higher moral standard simply
because he is not a European. Junious Ricardo

From: McFad3@aol.com Friends, it clear that the next President will either be a Democrat or a Republican! It won't go to some 3rd party candidate. We are black people alive at a time when America has it's first Black President and we aren't even willing to be fair to him! When we hold him accountable for things that were in place years before he came to office or before he was born (black unemployment) were holding him to a standard that he can't possibly meet! This is patently unfair and frankly it's what white folks have always done to us! He is President of America as it exist today! He's not Dr. King! Dr. King, Brother Malcolm and any great hero you can name never held an office and couldn't get elected to one. He may be as guilty as you say he is, but you know you don't know if he is. Your simply offering an opinion. I doubt that Obama speaks with you and I don't think you have access to all the intel he sees, so your opinion, to the extent it is informed at all, is informed by the history of lies and deceit of the white men who have held his office over the past 25 years! If every decision he makes will be judged in light of the lack of credibility of those who came before him, how can he possibly satisfy you. Is that fair to him? mike Guest · 33 minutes ago Yes! crowd in Washington and that's Ron Paul!! By Agence France-Presse
HONOLULU, Hawaii A popular Hawaiian recording
artist turned a top-security dinner of Pacific Rim
leaders hosted by President Barack Obama into a subtle
protest with a song in support of the Occupy
movement. Makana, who was born Matthew Swalinkavich, said the song prompted awkward stares from a few of those present but the Obamas appeared too absorbed with their guests to notice what was happening. The performance occurred at a dinner for summit participants from 21 economies around the Asia-Pacific, including Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, amid a security lockdown in Waikiki. As Makana sang, about 400 protesters including anti-globalization and native Hawaiian rights activists staged a protest march toward the dinner site but turned back after encountering the smothering security. Makana released the song on the Internet the day before and decided to play it at the urging of fans, he said. Inspired by the anti-capitalist [sic] movement that began with the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations in New York, it denounces Washington politicians, corporate greed and what he sees as an unfair American economic system. The song features the refrain, Well occupy the streets, well occupy the courts, well occupy the offices of you, till you do the bidding of the many, not the few. He sang it over and over for 40 minutes, varying his tempo and delivery to avoid triggering an overt reaction. Whenever I felt the heat might come down, I would ease off. It was a very careful procedure, he said. To watch a video of the song, go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq3BYw4xjxE |
